Location: Dibrugarh & Tinsukia districts, Assam.
Status: National Park; UNESCO Biosphere Reserve (1997).
Boundaries: North – Brahmaputra & Lohit rivers; South – Dibru river.
Vegetation: Moist mixed semi-evergreen & deciduous forests, canebrakes, grasslands.
Special Feature: Largest Salix swamp forest in NE India.
Climate: Tropical monsoon – hot, wet summers; cool, dry winters.
Flora: Dillenia indica, Bischofia javanica, Bombax ceiba, Lagerstroemia parviflora, etc.
Fauna: Tiger, Elephant, Leopard, Jungle Cat, Bears, Civet, Squirrels, Gangetic Dolphin, Slow Loris, Assamese Macaque.
Unique Fact: Only habitat of feral horses in India.
Birds: Important Bird Area (IBA) – 382+ species; incl. Greater & Lesser Adjutant Storks, Greater Crested Grebe.
